Mi Media Naranja

Dude. Ever since Philosophy existed, people have been thinking about love. (Which is kinda like fighting for peace... and we know what that's like.)

Plato, in The Symposium, writes about the purpose and nature of love. This philosophical text is allegedly where we get the phrase "looking for our other half," the idea ironically introduced by the comic playwright character Aristophanes.

Oh, the elusive SOULMATE. Where art thou?

Don't get me started about Platonic love, aka Secret Love or Unrequited Love. From Wikipedia: "In short, with genuine platonic love, the beautiful or lovely other person inspires the mind and the soul and directs one's attention to spiritual things. One proceeds from recognition of the beauty of another to appreciation of beauty as it exists apart from any individual, to consideration of divinity, the source of beauty, to love of divinity."

Platonic love brings you closer to God and all things beautiful. And Buddha would say Love is Desire is Suffering. Overlaps? Ponder that! I say.

You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.
"Ponder on that!, I say " ;-)

Wikipedia: It (philosophy) is distinguished from other ways of addressing such problems by its critical, generally systematic approach and its reliance on rational argument. The word "philosophy" comes from the Greek φιλοσοφία (philosophia), which literally means "love of wisdom". Philosophy by its definition seems to be all about love...depending of what philosophical entity. Philosophy is all about wanting to have answers to things that aren't suppose to be answered. People's lust / hunger for "more" continues the philosophical search for wisdom/answers. The words "be careful what you wish for" holds true in many aspects and the search for wisdom is that.

As far as love, it has many faces. From Wikipedia: The word love can refer to a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes...pick your poison. If you really want to ponder things, ponder where does all love originate? Figure that out and you figure out how to really love.
